WRITTEN IN STONE (VIDEO)

September 3rd, 2020

Towards the end of his life, recorded in Ki Tavo, as Moses began to address the upcoming conquest of the Promised Land, he instructed the Jewish nation to inscribe a set of stones with the text of the Torah.

Rabbi Dunner offers a number of fascinating explanations as to what exactly was written on these stones, as well as a range of intriguing ideas to explain the purpose of the inscribed stones, both practical and spiritual.

Once again, a seemingly obscure mitzva that seems largely irrelevant to the modern age is infused with depth and importance in Rabbi Dunner’s hands, not just in terms of its Jewish historical context, but also in terms of how we can relate to the study of Torah in contemporary times.
