Pesach is on 15 Nissan, Rosh Hashana is on 1 Tishrei, Yom Kippur is on 10 Tishrei, Sukkot is on 15 Tishrei – but you won’t find a date for Shavuot. Instead, there is the strange 49-day countdown to Shavuot that begins on Pesach. The problem is — when do we start counting?
