SECOND TEMPLE PERIOD – LECTURE 2

January 14th, 2014

Rabbi Dunner continues with his series covering the 700 years from the return to the Land of Israel and the building of the Second Temple.

In this second lecture he describes Yehud Medinata, the province of the Persian Empire in the Land of Israel, to which the Jews returned to build the Second Temple, under the guidance and leadership of Sheshbazzar, Zerubabel, Joshua the High Priest, Ezra and Nehemiah. Who were the returnees and their leaders, and what did they return to?

Rabbi Dunner also explores the vexing topic of the chronological timeline of history as found in traditional Jewish sources, in contrast to modern historical sources. Is there a plausible explanation for the missing 165+ years?

This lecture took place at the home of Ernie & Regina Goldberger in Beverly Hills, California, on Wednesday, January 15th, 2014
