WHO WAS KORACH & WHY WAS HE SO ENRAGED?

June 17th, 2015

Rabbi Dunner looks at the disturbing story of the Korach rebellion – an insurrection initiated by Korach, a member of Moshe’s family. Seemingly out of nowhere he rebelled against Moshe and Ahron’s leadership.

Why? After taking a careful look at the chapter that describes the revolution, Rabbi Dunner discusses who Korach was, and why he might have been so enraged by Moshe’s leadership.

He also examines two opinions as to when the rebellion took place, and then looks at who Korach’s fellow rebels were, to see why they joined forces with him.

Finally, Rabbi Dunner explains why the Talmud treats this dispute as the paradigm of ‘disputes not for the sake of Heaven.’
