TREASURES FROM THE RABBI’S LIBRARY – SEASON 3, EPISODE 3

November 23rd, 2021

Rabbi Dunner showcases a range of interesting “treasures” – all of them from his library of Judaica collectibles. In this episode he focuses on a remarkable piece of shemitta history from 1951 – the first time shemitta was observed in Eretz Yisrael after the creation of the State of Israel.

Rabbi Dunner also shares some association copies of shu”t (responsa) publications, explaining who wrote them, why they are interesting, and dipping into what they wrote that makes them stand out. Featured in this episode are stories about Rav Yechezkel Abramsky, Rav Yehuda Aryeh Leib Grossnass, Rav Zalman Sorotzkin and Rav Reuven Katz.

As usual, Rabbi Dunner brings every item to life in this episode of Treasures, offering background and anecdotes that illuminates both the books and their distinguished authors.
