TREASURES FROM THE RABBI’S LIBRARY – SEASON 2, EPISODE 5

January 8th, 2021

In this final episode of the second series of Treasures from the Rabbi’s Library, Rabbi Dunner concludes his survey of material relating to Rabbi Ahron of Belz and his escape from Nazi-occupied Europe, and then goes on to display a fascinating range of photographs of rabbinic luminaries from his collection. Each photograph reveals a new story, or nugget of information — offering insights into the history and lives of rabbinic leaders of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.

Rabbi Dunner concludes the episode by discussing a pamphlet published by an avreich in Lakewood in 1959 that deeply upset Rav Shimon Schwab, the illustrious rabbi of “Breuers” in Washington Heights NY.
