TREASURES FROM THE RABBI’S LIBRARY – SEASON 2, EPISODE 3

November 23rd, 2020

Over many years Rabbi Dunner has collected innumerable oddities and rarities spanning every era of Jewish history and literary activity.

In his series “Treasures from the Rabbi’s Library”, here in its second season, Rabbi Dunner reveals some of the forgotten pieces of Jewish literary history that he has in his vast library, revealing the stories behind them, and the reasons for his interest in them.

In this episode, Rabbi Dunner shares a rare polemical publication issued during the controversy surrounding the Get of Cleves (1768); an interesting declaration from the Agudas Harabbonim of the United States regarding kashrus; Otzar Hatemunot (1909) from Rabbi Benzion Eisenstadt; an extraordinary condemnation of Rabbi JB Soloveitchik in Boston, 1940; a vicious attack on Rav Kook, the chief rabbi of Palestine; and an attack on Rav Ahron Kotler for his stance on Israeli elections. As usual, a range of information to keep you informed, educated and — it goes without saying! — entertained.
