THE HIDDEN AND THE REVEALED

The opening of Nitzavim ends with a declaration that “the hidden” is in God’s purview, while “the revealed” belongs to us and our children for eternity (Devarim 29:28). But although this may have a kind of logic to it, the commentaries struggle to find a practical application relevant to day-to-day life.

Rabbi Dunner explores a range of commentaries to offer a deeper understanding of this enigmatic idea, which, as it turns out, is relevant to the most basic tenets of Judaism.
