There is a curious aspect with regard to Torah-mandated Cities of Refuge that were to be in the Land of Israel — they must be very well signposted, says the Torah in Parshat Shoftim. No such requirement exists for Jerusalem, or for any of the other holy sites in Israel.

Rabbi Dunner shares a beautiful story of a pointed question posed to the founder of Yeshivas Chachmei Lublin, Rabbi Meir Shapiro, during a fundraising meeting he had with an American philanthropist.

Using the inspirational lesson from this story, Rabbi Dunner explains why it is that Cities of Refuge were singled out for signposting, while Jerusalem was not.
