BE NICE TO THE STRANGER

The Torah connects the mitzva of being nice to a “ger” with the Jewish nation’s experience as slaves in Egypt. But surely being nice to a “ger” is an objective aspiration? Why should it be contingent on our own formative years as downtrodden strangers in a foreign land? Rabbi Dunner offers an interesting twist to explain it all.
