JOSEPH, THE DREAMER & THE DREAM INTERPRETER (3)

January 5th, 2017

Rabbi Dunner continues dissecting Joseph’s own dreams and the dreams he interpreted for others. The dream phenomenon is a thread that runs throughout the Joseph saga and is an aspect of the Joseph story that seems to play a crucial role. There are three pairs of dreams that dominate the narrative at key moments.

In this shiur Rabbi Dunner demonstrates how the traditional understanding of Joseph’s own dreams make very little sense in the context of the four dreams he would later interpret for Pharaoh and his two senior palace officials. The detailed analysis of Joseph’s dreams preludes a comprehensive new approach that will illuminate Joseph’s dreams and bring them into line with Joseph’s own methodology for dream interpretation.
